I recently read about a girl named Hope Elizabeth Stout.After learning more about her life,I got the feeling that she had been named“Hope”for a good reason,something of her life has lived on. In June 2003,Stout was very much like any other 12-year-old girl.She was looking forward to her family's annual beach trip.But a sudden pain in her knee changed everything.After conducting some tests,doctors found that she had bone cancer. Well,my wish is to let their wishes be fulfilled—all 155 of them.” It was hard for MAW to fulfill Stout's wish—it would cost nearly $750,000.However,MAW sprang into action.Newspapers,radio and TV stations shared the story.A local company got the ball rolling with a $25,000 donation. Sadly,Stout didn't live to see the happy ending of this story.She passed away on January 4,2004.After her death,donations poured into the MAW office even faster.On January 16,MAW announced that it had raised $1,116,000—enough to fulfill all 155 wishes.Finally,Stout's wish came true.
