As the common saying goes,you rely on friends in a strange place,When you go shopping,friends accompany you. When you feel lonely,friends come to comfort you.When you get depressed,friends are always there to cheer you up. When you feel unsafe,friends stand forth to help you. So overseas students should care for each other,support each other,and get well along with each other so as to create a heaven for overseas studying. Then what should overseas students do to prevent the misfortune happening to themselves and their friends?
      First of all,don't go out on your own at night or show off your wealth in public places. My friend Jack,now studying at a university in Pennsylvania,was attacked by a young black man on his first day arrival. At that time,Jack was curious about everything around,so he decided to walk around the campus by himself after supper Soon there was a young black man coming over,he smiled to Jack and then held out the left hand,pretending to shake hands with him. Out of friendliness,Jack did the same without hesitation,But unexpectedly,this strong black man caught Jack's hand,threw him down,and hit him on the head. My friend suffered a serious injury with his head bleeding for a long time. He was finally rushed into a hospital after two Indian students had found him lying unconsciously on the road with his watch gone.
      Sometimes a small casual thing may cost your life,For Jack,he should not have worn an expensive and showy watch. You may get yourself well-dressed with those valuable things only on such formal occasions as graduation ceremonies and so on,while in daily life,just wear ordinary clothes as everyone else does.
      Second,stay away from alcohol and keep an eye out for ill disposed men around you. This rule particularly fits girls. Therefore,go to a private party with trustworthy friends. Keep a distance from alcohol.
      Campus will not be a completely safe place unless all the people have some important safety tips in their mind.
